Choosing the Right Tree for Your Site

Trees are a long-term investment, and selecting the right tree for the right location, will help ensure that a healthy tree is still standing and thriving years from now. Our arborist will ask you a few questions about desired characteristics (i.e. mature size, attributes such as flowering, foliage color, etc.), and make recommendations that are appropriate for your planting site.

Disease-resistant and non-seed bearing cultivars are frequently available for the trees varieties you know and love, and we will recommended them when appropriate. We sometimes take a soil sample fine-tune our final recommendation, as some trees are susceptible to certain problems/conditions (such as chlorosis) when planted in soils with certain compositions or chemistries.

Innovative Tree Care holds our nursery license, and works with a number of different nurseries in the southern Wisconsin area. We have access to top-quality stock, in a range of tree size options. We install all of our trees to industry best management practice (BMPs) guidelines and also plant with mycorrhizae and biostimulants to aid in tree establishment.

Tree Planting Finishing Touches

When we are finished, a ring of organic bark mulch (2-4”) is installed to provide a number of benefits to your tree.  A formative prune to remove any structural defects or broken, dead, or diseased limbs is also included, as is a root prune (if applicable).
