Tree Pruning
Tree pruning is an essential part of owning and maintaining any tree, and is a great way to improve tree health (when done properly)!
Why Prune Your Tree?
Pruning may be recommended as a cultural practice to:
Manage disease
Remove dead or storm damaged limbs
Encourage tree growth or stimulate flower/fruit production
Improve tree structure/reduce chance of future tree issues
Practical reasons to prune trees include:
Removing problematic interactions between trees and wires, structures, or other infrastructure
Removing branches/shade blocking gardens or lawns
Increase tree aesthetics
Improve line-of-sight
Our Tree Pruning Practices
At ITCS, we follow all industry pruning recommendations (ANSI A300) and best management practices to ensure you can enjoy a healthy tree for years to come. We offer our tree pruning services during the dormant season, when we will best be able to assess your tree’s structural needs. Dormant pruning also has the advantages of not stressing the tree during the growing season, not exposing the tree to a variety of insect or disease issues, and faster wound compartmentalization in spring.
While we may do small pruning projects, we refer all larger pruning jobs to Heartwood Tree Company, who we have found to deliver excellent service and quality.
