Managing Biotic Tree Problems
including Insects, Mites and Diseases
A number of common diseases and insects affect the health of Wisconsin trees. Some probelms are more severe than others, and some may warrant treatment.
More severe insect and disease issues may result in premature leaf drop, dieback, overall decline in tree health, or tree mortality. Some of these biotic (i.e. living) tree health threats may become chronic if left untreated. Less severe insect or disease issues may only cause trees cosmetic issues, or minor foliar symptoms later in the season.
