Tree & Shrub Growth Regulation
Tree and shrub growth regulation is recommended for a number of reasons. Growth inhibitors are utilized to help keep trees and shrubs smaller, to extend live wood pruning intervals, and for other practical reasons directly related to vegetative growth inhibition. Growth regulators do a lot more than just inhibit the growth of trees, though, and they are sometimes prescribed for their secondary benefits.
Some secondary benefits of growth regulators include:
increased fine root mass
improved tolerance to certain diseases, and heat/drought stressors
increased chlorophyll production
ability of tree to better adapt to urban planting sites
improved recovery and buffering to construction activities
One application of a growth regulator will provide up to three years of benefits. Click here to discuss with our arborist if a growth regulation program is right for your tree!
